Marco Rossi. A Vorarlberg native conquers the Ontario Hockey League.
There is no denying that Marco Rossi was the shining star of the 19/20 season in the Ontario Hockey League. The young Austrian managed to win over the Canadian field hockey landscape from the get-go. He was the first European player to receive the Eddie Powers Memorial Trophy thanks to his exceptional performance
at the Ottawa 67's. In the NHL draft Marco Rossi was rated as a top prospect and is currently considered one of the most promising young players in ice hockey.

ABOUT ME. MY PATH TO THE NHL.
It is well known that faith moves mountains. For Marco Rossi, however, it wasn't faith alone but blood, sweat and tears that made him one of the most promising ice hockey players in North America. The carrer of the native Austrian (*2001 in Feldkirch, Vorarlberg) began in his earliest childhood days at the most famous Vorarlberg ice hockey club, the VEU Feldkirch. At the age of 10, the boy from Rankweil transferred from the Dornbirn EC U15 (Austria) to the Rheintal U15 (Switzerland) leaving behind his home country for the first time in the name of the great dream. What is beyond the imagination of others was a valuable and formative time for Marco. Together with his father, he commuted five to six times a week from Vorarlberg to Zurich. This amounted to more than 475,000 km over the years. 'Afterwards the car was just a write-off,' said Marco and Michael Rossi in agreeement. But every kilometer was worth it in the end. After all, it didn't take long for the Ottawa 67's, a top team in the Ontario Hockey League, to send a delegation along with General Manager Jamey Boyd to Zurich to see next-generation talent Marco Rossi in action. The Canadians were immediately impressed and so it was time for Marco to say goodbye for the second time. At the tender age of 16, he crossed the pond to get one step closer to his dream of playing in the NHL. And that's how it turned. 2020 has been Marco's year because at only 18 years old he is considered the top prospect for the NHL draft.
